ABOUT ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® OF LOS ALTOS
Assistance League of Los Altos is a nonprofit, nonsectarian
volunteer organization that puts caring and commitment into action
through community-based Philanthropic Programs. The Costume Bank is staffed by the volunteer members of Assistance League of Los Altos. Being a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, financial contributions are tax
deductible to the extent allowed by law and maybe sent to 169 State St,
Los Altos, CA 94022. Please come and join this wonderful organization,

PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAMS:
H.O.M.E (Housing of Medical Emergencies)
The Flora Lamson Hewlett Apartments so named after receiving a sizable
grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to build a 42-unit
apartment complex on Stanford University Medical Center property. It was completed
in September 1987. H.O.M.E. houses patients and their caregivers undergoing
tests or treatment at Stanford University Medical Center. H.O.M.E is serving the
community immensely with high occupancy and affordable housing for
those in need.
OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®
Provides new shoes and socks to disadvantaged school children throughout
the school year and backpacks filled with school supplies each August.
VINTAGE FASHION SHOWS
Entertain seniors at area convalescent and retirement homes from January
through May each year.
HUG-A-BEAR
Teddy Bears are given to trauma and cancer patients at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, and Teddy Bears are distributed at H.O.M.E to residents..
Hand-Knit Hats
Knit by our members which warm the heads of newborns at El Camino Hospital
in Mountain View.
ASSISTEENS®
Auxiliary involves local 7th through 12th grades students in community service.
